fwiw I've been using #snac with mastodon clients for a while now and it does the job.

unfortunately, afaik you don't get push notifs via the masto api, so you either have to poll, or get them via ntfy.sh/telegram/email

Oh! On the desktop I use @[email protected] (Qt6) and, seldom, Tuba (libed waiter).

Tokodon has some problems here and there, but I'm not entirely sure if it's a snac/mastoAPI problem or just a Tokodon bug.

i tried tokodon yesterday, idk if its an issue on my end, but it was weirdly laggy? like it felt really clunky, it just wasnt usable for me
and tuba i dont like using because its libadwaita, its just not my style

Yeah, as I found out just now, Tokodon is indeed a bit clunky.
Some posts from this thread didn't render correctly (see attached image).

I'll let you know if I find anything better, lol.
ig snac's interface it is :p
(I like it, but I prefer to use my browser strictly for, well, browsing the web, not apps/"social media")
