The terrible irony of Donald Trump saying that a civilization will end, is that he’s absolutely correct

Just not the way he means.

The change is what looks to be the final nail in the coffin with respect to our nation’s civilization.

This is going to rewrite global relations.

For those of us in the US, the task of rebuilding something completely different while freeing ourselves from billionaire extinction cult despotism will be the work of generations

@GhostOnTheHalfShell
It takes decades to build trust and it is being thrown away in weeks or even days.
@alterelefant @GhostOnTheHalfShell I won't trust America until you fix the system that elected Trump, twice. Now it's clear that your 'checks and balances' and your 'well regulated militia' are unable to stop a lunatic president ruling by executive order and social media post, how are you going to stop the next one? It'll take some serious constitutional amending before anyone takes your government seriously again.
@pthane
For me in Europe it feels like our friend across the pond became a psychiatric patient in an acute psychic crisis. We are all trying to figure out what the next step should be.

@alterelefant @GhostOnTheHalfShell Disengage as much as possible as quickly as possible. Both personally, refusing to buy from US companies or use US services, and politically by urging our governments to move away from reliance on US defence hardware, to close US military bases on our territory, to stop awarding massive IT contracts to US corporations. It won't be quick or easy but we should make a start and make it clear where we are heading.
