I know it’s old-hat MCU stuff with the Defenders shows, but the absence of references to the wider MCU is kinda distracting to me. How are the (New) Avengers reacting to Fisk’s actions? Where’s Spider-Man in all of this? Where’s Kate Bishop? How come we don’t hear people on the street in those news segments talk about how vigilantes saved the universe?
But the depiction of the AVTF is giving real-world ICE vibes and they do a great job of depicting the absolute terror and anger that comes from a police unit that functions as the private army of a politician.
Also, what’s with DD’s heavy grunting after a fight? I don’t recall seeing this before…
MimicJarMuch like last season where Kamala Khan was “visiting friends in San Francisco” or whatever I’m willing to say the same for Kate Bishop. She’s training with Clint Barton or whatever.
However I completely agree that the (New) Avengers should have an opinion. I guess you could argue that Valentina is keeping them busy since she needs to do whatever illegal arms thing is going on, but why?
Why is Valentina trading in illegal arms? Why is Fisk trading in illegal arms? Even in this episode the Governor brought up with Vanessa. You could do basically whatever you want, why with Fisk? And with Fisk, why deal in illegal arms?
He’s the mayor of New York. He’s gotten laws changed. People love him. Those that don’t disappear. He runs the city.
