In April 2026, the NSFW AI girlfriend platform My Lovely AI suffered a data breach that exposed over 100k users. The data included user-created prompts and links to the resulting AI-generated images, along with a small number of Discord and X usernames.

Hold on to your butts, the user counts are absolutely staggering, even if this particular one was a smaller site.
The top 5 AI companion sites together drive more human messages each month than all of X and Reddit combined.
User genders are an even split between men and women. In some regions, >50% of teens use AI companions regularly.
my-lovely-ai is of course a site geared towards men in the wider sense, but it's not a pure pornography product from the looks of it.

The amount of engagement is truly staggering though, and I'm both marveling at it, as well as in abject terror.

But yeah LLM is used for ERP

(and to add an akshually, since every message produces a full multi-second turn of the LLM that doesn't properly track or wait for the "rest" of the message, no, AI Companion or LLM chats in general don't work like that. Users quickly learn that.)
