Long weekend could not have been better. Great cycling, great camp-sites, great food, wine, and company. The Mosel did not disappoint, although I could have done without 70 km of headwind on Sunday 😅

If I did it again, I would skip the part from Koblenz to Cochem, and maybe do it over four days instead of 3 to have time to stop to see more along the way. Nonetheless, and excellent long weekend.

@michcampbell Why would you skip this part? The Mosel is on my cycling bucket list for this summer, so I'm really interested in your experience.

@judder it's just much nicer upstream from Cochem. Between Koblenz and Cochem there's a lot more traffic than further upstream. Shaving 50 km off a 2.5 day trip would have been nice and given us more time to drink wine :)

It's not awful, just not as memorable as the rest. Have a great time, it's quite lovely! Are you planning to camp or hotel?

@michcampbell Ah, thanks for the explanation. Camping most probably.
@judder enjoy! We stayed in Zell and Trittenheim - the trittenheim site was quite nice, would stay there again. At Zell the tent area is right on the river, so a bit exposed if it's windy (but beautiful).
