The Google Chrome browser now includes vertical tabs and a reading mode, and both are welcome features to the web experience. Especially vertical tabs.

On a 16:9 monitor oriented in landscape-mode, you can get more, usefully-labeled tabs when using a top-bar than a side-bar (unless you want to sacrifice more than just a pinkie-width of screen realestate).

@verge Nope, not gonna happen. Too many years looking for them under the address bar. Besides a horizontal tab bar removes WAY more space from the browser window then horizontal tabs.

If I cared enough I might say, "stop trying to make vertical tab bars a thing." But as long as I have the choice of horizontal tab bars or vertical... I. Just. Don't. Care.
