If Trump gets to do what he is very possibly lusting to do and fantasising about, and is definitely openly hinting at, then everyone around him who didn't take their most recent opportunity to shoot him in the face is complicit and damned.

Technically this is incitement to do a crime.
I can not express how tiny a consideration that is next to what we're talking about. Unless you think presidents are such a special category of person that the normal calculus of reasonable force in self defence cannot apply to them. That's a theory I would test with a letter-opener or heavy paperweight, so I'm not worried about testing it with words.
