Anyone know offhand what type this connector is? I'm sure I've seen this type of thing somewhere before but can't figure out what it is.

@sen looks aerospace? no idea though, some sort of multi-DIN thing
@gsuberland @sen
There are quadaxial connectors (like from Fakra) and there are quadruple-Connectors, but a quadruple-quadaxial never crossed my way.

@adorfer @gsuberland @sen whats the rationale behind quadrax I really wonder what sense it makes from a signal integrity perspective.

Triax, shielded diffpair, coax, ok. But quadrax???

@f4grx @adorfer @gsuberland it looks like they’re not what you might think when you hear “quadrax”, rather a lighter alternative to twisted pair with four wires inside a shield. https://www.gore.com/products/quad-cables-aerospace-defense-air-land I suspect this connector has two redundant gigabit Ethernet paths on it, since the vehicle it’s on is TTEthernet-based.
Quad Cables for Aerospace, Defense Air & Land Applications | Gore

GORE® Quad Cables offer tighter skew requirements with low crosstalk and controlled impedance ideal for high-speed serial data and video protocols. Lighter and more rugged, these quadrax cables feature dual differential pairs that routinely transfer bi-directional signals at speeds up to 1 GHz at lengths up to 30 meters (100 feet).
