#WordWeavers Can you create a character / place / story hook / device on the spot?

The Xanadu books are a long string of me doing this, although I work in Obsidian to keep track as I go along.

An example is the TV show Godengine in The Xanadu Invasion (bk 2), which is central to the plot. The actual premise came at once, based a little bit on a show called Zero Hour and a little bit on Stargate. The behind the scenes stories are mostly slightly altered Stargate ones from conventions.
