@jik This is a poll for our age during typing class.

@KanaMauna @jik By junior high school in the mid '70s I already knew I was going into computers as a career. After years of hunting and pecking on teletypes I knew I needed to learn 10 finger typing. My friend and I were the only boys in the typing class. We were taught to properly format addresses, envelopes, letters, papers, etc.; i.e. classic secretarial duties.

I barely passed the 40 WPM on a manual typewriter as I had already become dependent on the terminal's backspace key.

@targetdrone @jik

I had a similar JH class. All the typewriter keys in class were painted black, which really forced you to memorize and be consistent.
