Last weekend i talked to my marxist uncle, who is 87, and we both agreed that we live in a horrible time, but that we have to keep up the fight. He said, he has been doing this for almost 70 years, and even if the results have not been great, there is no reason to stop now.

So much respect for our movement elders. We really need to find a way not to create an ageist climate.

My uncle told me about a time, recently, when he went to a meeting of an activist group, all of them in their 20s, who at first did not know how to deal with him. But they ended up having a great conversation.

I pretty much stopped going to these types of meetings after one too many times of being met with suspicious paranoia. Which, sure, i can understand. But now i think i want to try that again.
