SisypheWhile I agree with you, I think it’s also the inevitable end state. I don’t think we can forever win the battle of regulation against the corporations. It would mean having people in power continuously doing the right thing and not being swayed by money.
No, it would mean the people taking back the power and holding their representatives accountable, stringing them up when they capitulate to capital.
Yes, in theory democracy would be the stop gap.
But it turns out that democracy is only as good as the education and understanding of the public. I’m losing faith in that, as many many people have shown that they can’t mature past mental teenagers.

I think interacting with the natural world is good for us, almost regardless of the state of the environment.
My back yard is a complete disaster right now because it’s essentially an active construction zone where my kid and multiple dogs play every day.
But if I wander outside, play some fetch, stare at some trees and clouds, listen to the birds, and feel the sun on my skin, it does some subtle subconscious stuff for the better for sure. It’s even a little bit of exercise.
