The #Magic begin their final push to the end of the season. Every game is a must-win to climb the standings. They get their crack at the injury-depleted #Pistons tonight.

Solid start for Paolo Banchero. Everyone has been watching and obsessing over his energy. Got an early offensive rebound and hit two jumpers. He is up to six points already. #Magic's energy is the story for sure.

10-4 ORL, 8:41 1st

Second time the #Magic have caught the #Pistons napping a bit in transition. Tristan da Silva released after a Kevin Huerter three. Jalen Suggs QB'ed the ball right to him for a foul. #Magic's energy has been really solid to start.

14-7 ORL, 7:36 1st

The #Magic force a second first-quarter timeout from the #Pistons. They are playing with a lot of force on offense. Ball is mostly moving the way it needs to. Effort is making up for mistakes.

23-12 ORL, 4:58 1st

Anthony Black checking back in. He missed the last 16 games with a left lateral abdominal strain. Definitely good to have him back to boost these bench lineups.

23-15 ORL, 4:31 1st

The #Magic struggling as they always do when they break their starting lineup, even with Anthony Black back in the lineup. #Pistons are spreading the ball a bit more and hitting some outside shots. Good ball movement from their second group.

25-22 ORL, 2:10 1st

Details are everything when you are trying to win these critical games. The #Magic are 3 for 9 from the line. This is a day after they shot worse than 70% from the line last night.

Got to make the free ones.

27-24 ORL, 1:16 1st

The #Magic had a great start on both ends. But when they broke the lineup, things started to slip. The #Pistons found a bit of a groove and the Magic made too many mistakes. They lead 30-28 after one quarter.

The #Magic re-extended their lead out to seven. But then some rough shot choices and poor defensive communication did them in. The #Magic have to play Moe on Duren right now because of two fouls each for Wendell and Goga. Just hanging on these minutes.

42-39 ORL, 7:29 2nd

Some rough sequences for both teams with Duren on the bench. But the #Magic have grown the lead back out to nine points. Good steal and breakaway dunk for him. He is slowly looking more comfortable. But this is not pretty basketball.

50-41 ORL, 4:05 2nd

I expected a lot of fouls in this one because that is how the #Magic and the #Pistons play. But this game is clunky.

Orlando has used some fouling to get back into control after some early fouls from them. The Magic have a clear talent advantage tonight.

56-45 ORL, 2:56 2nd

The #Magic settled down a bit after the early second-quarter struggles. A Paolo Banchero and-1 to end the quarter helps the #Magic restore a 14-point lead heading to the locker room. He's got 21 at the half.

#Magic lead the #Pistons 69-55 at halftime.

No slow start to the third quarter for the #Magic. They have forced a few turnovers and Desmond Bane just came up with a big block at the rim on Daniss Jenkins. #Magic are on a bit of cruise control here. Things are just working.

75-59 ORL, 9:10 3rd

Desmond Bane with a floater wedgie.

79-63 ORL, 6:48 3rd

The #Magic are rolling now. The #Pistons do not have the horses and are not shooting well enough to beat this team. #Magic have a ton of energy and Paolo Banchero is rolling downhill with 27 points. Bane has 22. This could be a rout.

86-63 ORL, 5:27 3rd

Early Jase Richardson minutes for the #Magic. It really feels like this one is academic. The #Pistons don't have a reason to fight for this one. I doubt we see Thompson or Duren the rest of the way.

92-69 ORL, 1:52 3rd

Been a while (well, Friday, I guess), but the #Magic came out in the third quarter and expanded their lead. Some lazy play to end the quarter might make the start of the fourth meaningful. But the #Magic lead the #Pistons 98-76 after three quarters.

Anthony Black is being pretty liberal with his shot-taking and attacks to the rim. That is understandable up 20+ in his frist game back. But the #Pistons are starting to find some offensive groove. They have the #Magic's lead down to 16.

98-82 ORL, 10:13 4th

The game will get decided in the next 3-5 minutes. Both teams have reloaded with their starters with a 16-point game. If the #Magic re-extend the lead, it's over. If the #Pistons cut it down below 10... uh oh.

98-82 ORL, 10:13 4th

Desmond Bane entered tonight with 29 missed free throws this season. He has five now in the last two games.

Bane still better than 90 percent from the line this season (close to the #Magic record). But odd to see him miss.

109-94 ORL, 6:14 4th

The offense that was flowing so easily earlier in the game is now struggling. The #Magic are pressing for looks and the ball is bouncing in the #Pistons' favor. Magic are not getting out in transition nearly as much either. Deficit is down to nine.

109-100 ORL, 5:26 4th

The #Magic say Wendell Carter has suffered a neck sprain and is DOUBTFUL to return.

#Magic going to have to roll with Goga Bitadze for the rest of this game it appears.

It's a four-point game after the Jenkins three after not rebounding a Huerter miss. The #Magic have no energy again. They are struggling to get into the paint. Everything is slow.

Just hanging on again.

109-105 ORL, 3:51 4th

The #Magic found life again. Jalen Suggs with a big three. Then a turnover and he makes a nice wrap-around to Goga Bitadze for a lay-in. Another steal and Suggs pushes it up court and the #Magic work for a corner three from da Silva. This one is now over.

119-105 ORL, 2:37 4th

The #Magic probably won't love that they had to play a clutch game tonight with how easy things were through three quarters. But they made the plays to clinch the victory. Still work to do in the last three. But they will take a 123-107 win over the #Pistons.
