A fun holodeck episode, I think Kate Mulgrew had fun playing Queen Arachnia. The photonic beings only regardling other photonics as being alive is a fun idea and I like how it forces the crew to play along
This episode gave the Doctor some fun stuff to do too, as the most qualified member of the crew to make first contact with a photonic race.
I watched this with my Fiancée and she didn't understand why Tom opted for his holodeck program to be black and white since that was just a limitation of film from that era, so if you are experiencing Captain Protons life it would be in colour.
