@stux Everyone seems to assume we'll fix it at our end and I'm not 100% sure if we even can anymore. At the very least it sure would help if the rest of the world was making more of an effort to help those of us who are trying get through to the people who live in blissful ignorance.

@stux @pietkuip I'm sorry, I guess I'm going a bit into the extreme here to make a point. Everyone just assumes it will work itself out. It's not really that simple.

It's not impossible that a big enough public outcry could force even this administration to act. Possibly. It's also not impossible that we could still manage to just barely eke out a last bit of democracy and turn things around in November.

But it is not healthy to just assume it will just work out.

@pietkuip @stux The only thing I personally want to see from the world is just a little help in getting *through* to people. Mass media, social media, etc etc are all working together to manipulate the average American such that the grand majority simply don't realize we've reached the stage of murdering school children.

But no, this is not a US problem. It is a world problem. Nazis are never a problem confined to one area. They make themselves everyone's problem. As they are already doing

U.S. foreign policy has been a problem for the rest of the world (minus Israel) since decades. Yes, it is worse with Trump now, but would Vance be better? I doubt it.

I see your media (NYTimes, WSJ, CNN) but they are normalizing also this President. And most seem to be watching FOX. There is no way we could get through to them.

@stux @pietkuip That is very very hard to answer. Vance is part of the nazi regime and he will cooperate, but he doesn't have that force of destruction Trump has. The biggest question then is: how much will have been done by that point? If they've already fully destroyed the Constitution in every meaningful way by then it may be too late. They might arrest any Democrats who win and have them shot. It's all contingent on how things go until then.

@stux @pietkuip I still think the best case scenario is if Trump's age and lack of health finally get to him right now. ASAP... Like I said, I just don't think Vance has it in him to keep this momentum going. And I definitely don't think he'll be as gleeful about committing war crimes and such... I think if the midterms turned things around a Democratic legislative branch might at least keep things from going to a full blown nazi regime.
