Thing I would like banned: using ‘times’ to refer to a reduction, as in ‘[new measurement] is a hundred times lower than [old measurement].

Division. That’s division. Let’s say ‘…is one hundredth of…’ or some other formulation that doesn’t invoke multiplication like this.

I can't even translate "x times lower" into anything meaningful. Is "two times lower" a half? I don't know, very quickly cease to care, and give up reading the article.
@sunflowerinrain yeah true, I’m assuming they use it that way, but I don’t know. Though I don’t think anyone uses it for simple fractions like a half.
