There's literally no time in history where women haven't worked by selling their labour. It may not have been the societal ideal but it was always there, especially textile work. Modern people forget what a huge effort manual production of clothes is.
What #feminism fought for was a way to be independent of the whims of a man because we control our own money and assets and therefore can make our own decisions, not because paid labour under capitalism is so amazing.

@AimeeMaroux Back on the family farm there was no division between "work" and "care work". It was all just things that needed to be done. Some were done ɓy men, some were done by women Then the industrial revolution came, people went to the cities and worked in factories . The things the men had done on the farm disappeared, but a lot of the things the women had done stayed the same. But suddenly it was unpaid labour.
