Having been alive in 1969, I can say that I would trade Nixon for Trump in a heartbeat. I grew up in a Democratic household that disliked Nixon, but he was liberal compared to Trump and he understood that Russia (then the USSR) was our enemy. Yes, he was a racist, manipulative, and vindictive man but he mostly kept that out of his public utterances.
