Digital Sovereignty isn’t a purely nation-to-nation matter. It’s a question of which rights and responsibilities get preserved in the digital world.

@kdkorte notbonly which right but also how they can be preserved.
What do you do if someone simply ignors your rights? We all know the kids who cannot stick to the group rules. Either they get kicked out or if they are rude enough, they take over the group.
I habe an actual example of an employer who gives a shit about GDPR and other compliance rules he has to follow - He just said: I wont play this game. Germany 2026
@evischreck In a democracy, it ultimately should be the voters who put politicians in place to make the rules and enforce them.
Thus, if your employer doesn't give a shit, he should be punished for it.
@kdkorte Unfortunately, you can’t punish someone for their attitude. Only for breaking the law. And whether that really helps when someone is determined to do it is questionable.
in a single nation, you can have rules and a democratic system. And that works more or less ok. But digital world does not work with national borders. It is hard in the EU to have consitent digital rules, but practically it is hard to put it into life sonthat it effectively protects peoples rights.
