Anyone in the #Ottawa / #Gatineau areas want a full-height (40-something RU) 19" relay #rack, that's 10-32 threaded.

I could deliver - if sufficiently motivated.

Note a relay rack is a 2-post rack for short-depth switches, patch panels, and equipment meant to be rack-mounted from mid-points. It's not good for servers, and UPSes would need specific rails for a mid-mount.

(Eatons don't *need* them tho, the 5 & 9 series have mid-mount threading.)

Sample photo included.

And if you need network switches... I have more than I'll ever know what to do with. Super cheap to enterprise/datacentre.

@mWare I gave away a rack on wheels once. The people who took it used it to store firewood.
@NuanceRhymesWithOrange @mWare firewood, the original UPS.
@johnefrancis @mWare I’m the sort of person who is absolutely not getting out of the cozy and secure bed in the middle of the night to put more wood on the fire. So, it is quite an interruptible power supply.
@mWare Depending on the switch make/models, might be interested! My home network is currently running on a hilariously overprovisioned Brocade ICX7250-48P-2X10G šŸ˜† 🤪

@andrew Help me narrow it down please: PoE? Managed? 1G? 10G? 40G? Copper? SFP? SFP+? QSFP? RPS/Hot-swap PSU? Rack mount? Pocket? Desktop? What sort Port density?

I've got all flavours of Juniper from EX2200 to EX4500, several Arista DCS7050 flavours (including copper 10G), a couple Mikrotik, HP/Aruba Instant-On, a couple UniFi, a few EdgeSwitch, maybe even some Omada.

@andrew wishing I was closer!

I've currently got a meraki without a license doing poe :-(

@mWare Hah, yeah, should have been more specific; sorry about that! šŸ˜…

I'm in the market for a small (4-6 port) desktop or under-desk switch that can do 10G back to my rack (copper preferably but I have a conduit and can run something else). I run Brocade now which I'll likely never get more of, so I'm good with Mikrotik (used before for smaller things) and UniFi (though I don't have an existing setup and probably don't want to 100% migrate over to that ecosystem).

No need for PoE though I'd get it if I had the option.

Also if you have any small 1U rackmounts that are cheap and/or low-power, I have a little TP-Link taped to my rack now for complicated reasons and would love to replace that with something actually rackmount. 1G is fine, no PoE or management necessary.

@andrew Juniper EX2300, I think I have a couple, which I believe have 8-10 PoE ports and a pair of SFP+ cages. I've also got at least one US-16-XG kicking around. Finally I have some new-in-box UniFi Enterprise 8 PoE.
@andrew I've also got pre-fab/pre-terminated SC/APC cables, so you could easily pull that in to your conduit.
