Question for #SciFi and #Fantasy #Readers: which authors books remind you of Final Fantasy?

Ideally with SciFi-Fantasy settings & a band of misfits.
Monsters, crime bosses & revolutions also welcome!
Any of the above with a Squal-like character is even better!

This is to help with Bookbub ads for my Sythe Series.

*I've browsed 'books like #FinalFantasy' lists, forums etc & found a few authors, but am now just finding erotica SciFi-fantasy. My characters are asexual so that's not a good fit!

Older stuff, but Nick Pollotta's "Bureau 13", "Doomsday Exam", and "Full Moonster" have the same kind of diverse team full of anything goes kitchen sink characters approach.

(He's written a lot of other stuff since then, but I'm not familiar with it.)
