Bod and myself also wrote a small PC Demo for @revisionparty - "Tranceistor by Schranzvergleich". It's not Schranz this time, but I hope you enjoy it anyways! My code, bod's music.

@nr4 @revisionparty I am no big expert of 'demos' but 'by the look of it' I advance an hypothesis .. is it using some 'distance field' to render that geom is it ? 🙂
@gilesgoat @revisionparty you're absolutely right! The distance function is rendered by a sphere tracer with one reflection bounce and a subsurface scattering approximation, using PBR illumination. The colors are crated with special polynomial color maps I designed with a packer tool I wrote - https://github.com/LeStahL/ImageColorPicker :)
@nr4 @revisionparty I got the impression, I may be wrong, that 'the distance formula is unique and the surface is 'the same formula but varying params'. I'd say 'the most impressive part' is the ray tracer and your scattering approximation. Well yes and the synch with music and all the rest of course 🙂 Yeah I TRIED sometime 'let's put up some formulae to get some palettes' .. it's SO EASY to end up with "NOT so nice looking stuff" and so difficult to get it right. Ah "Rove" is still my fav 🥰
@gilesgoat @revisionparty rove is so beautiful <3 thank you for your feedback!
@nr4 @revisionparty I can tell you we spent quite a few week end nights ( or 'post party nights' ) chilling out at very late night hours and/or early morning hours with 'some bottles of cider' watching C64/PC/Amiga demos and 'Rove' and 'Luma' ( by Mercury ) hold "a special place" 🥰 Them and those 'fractal voyages into the mandelbox' or similar 😎
