Very sad to hear about the passing of The Mac Observer's John Martellaro, and so soon after my fellow Macworld alum Chuck La Tournous. I respected John's work and shared many conversations and meals with him at Apple events. Brilliant and funny.

We lost Tim Robertson of MyMac last year. I'm sure there are others too that aren't top of mind for me at the moment, but my point is that seeing my cohort of Apple writers and pundits passing through the veil is unsettling.

@flargh My condolences…I remember reading some of John’s work way back when.

I also completely forgot about MyMac, but loved that site around 2000 or so—thanks for jogging my memory!

@flargh Still really missing Tim, and he also had a lot of respect for John Martellaro 😢
@davidbcohen IIRC, Tim was working on making an archive for John before his own health took a turn for the worse. I hope John was ultimately able to save his work for posterity.
@flargh Oh no! Martellaro was really good.
@mdhughes he was great. And he was amazingly smart. And funny. And kind. And he had a history and background that was incredible. NASA. Apple. Just an absolute giant. I hadn’t seen him in well over a decade but I still held him in the highest regard.
