Dear me, I am glad I am not a Windows 11 user.

Just rescued an elderly relative from a Windows (TM) dialog requesting credit card details to sign up to a Microsoft subscription. There was no obvious Skip button, and the user thought it was some type of scam. Success though, they can use their laptop again.

Haha! I was so close.
It is only used for email, web and the BBC Iplayer, so almost anything would do, and I think it could be so much simpler, especially for older people.

@robpumphrey Did a Debian install on my mother in laws laptop (which I also put an SSD into) the other day. Total overkill....she has 11000 unread emails, and mainly visits Facebook. And that's her use. 🫣

Ah well you need a windows 11 installation like mine, which has saved me from this problem by refusing to reboot today!

No, I just rebooted about 100 times skipping the bitlocker key prompt, then eventually put in my bitlocker recovery key (once I'd found it) and it worked
