Some pencil outlines of recent drawings. Someone recently told me how brave she thought I was drawing directly with ink, and I had to disappoint her with how meticulously these are all planned out in advance. Usually the pencilling takes at least as long as the inking.

Do you use a light desk? I’ve enjoyed having one for preserving pencils and producing a few inked versions of a piece.

I have one, but I tend to use it only when something's being really problematic -- or another time when I wanted to get something absolutely symmetrical while still being freehand. And these days the paper I use is so thick the light barely penetrates. It's been really useful in the past, less so now.
