I can’t remember how I found out about this book but I’m just reading “The serviceberry” by Robin Wall Kimmerer and it’s such a beautiful, inspiring work about the gift economy and living in community, about finding alternatives to systems of financial gain and about resisting oppressive systems brought on by colonialism 🤍✊
It’s so good and soothing, I would totally recommend this to anyone who just feels despair looking at the world right now.

@alicetragedy good to hear it’s good, it’s been on my list for a while. some of their previous works are wonderful too, like braiding sweetgrass

@alicetragedy also, I cannot recommend Rebecca Solnit enough, hope is a constant theme across all her writing (like hope in the dark essay collection)

REBECCA SOLNIT
@fox ha! Rebecca Solnit comes up at least once in “the serviceberry” 🤍 I’ve only read one book I think ages ago, but paradise built in hell is on my TBR list, I recently got it from the library. Thank you for the recommendation 🙏
