NRA Accidentally Forgets
To Rise Up Against
Tyrannical Government

An embarrassed National Rifle Association says
it totally forgot to do the one thing it has been
saying for years it is solely there to do.

@joewo The 2A failed its first ever test, totally and completely, flying colours across the board!

@megatronicthronbanks @joewo I'm pretty sure that the second amendment was created primarily to allow for the creation of local militia as a supplement to the US military to allow far flung settlements to protect themselves from attack. That purpose has since been superceded by the establishment of the National Guard.

The whole "rise up against a tyrannical government" thing is a modern talking point and ignores that Article III specifically disallows using force against the US government.

@StarkRG @joewo As far as I can tell the 2A is an afterthought scribble and it's ALL interpretation driven by cash. When the US becomes a real democracy again it has got to at least pull all the 2A's teeth, in prep for the day it is eventually repealed. The ability to USE it as a legal weapon, needs to be crippled.
@megatronicthronbanks @joewo Yeah, it's certainly the most ambiguous and least well-written thing in the Constitution. The Supreme Court unilaterally decreeing that half of it was superfluous flavor text (the part about well-regulated militia) definitely didn't help matters.
