the next time someone from a massive city in california acts like it is trivially easy to just buy an electric vehicle and everyone needs to do that i should be allowed to slap them
yeah cool. i know that charging on 120V is actually feasible or something if im that hard up. but guess what. that's not even an option for me. i would have to hope that there's some charging option near me that doesn't take hours. which is almost certainly not the case because ev charging infrastructure is unmaintained dogshit that got subsidized for installation and when it came to maintenance everyone involved did a big shrug
seeing ev enthusiast youtubers do road trip videos where they still fight to find a charger that works and where someone isn't hogging a high capacity charger with their vehicle that can't actually make use of it makes me fucking laugh my ass off
we live in hell and im not going to act like i can make a personal choice that makes it less hell because it doesn't
wow america sure has a shitty obsession with oil haha. but not me. because i made the correct consumer choice. everyone else should too and that solves the problem. duh
sorry but if you expect the median person who drives in the usa to understand what the fuck a kilowatt is and how that matches up with their car and if they can use all the kilowatts the charger has available you're already completely fucking wrong about everything

imagine if you had different flow rates on gas pumps and your car could only accept a specific flow rate and if your car didn't take the full flow rate the pump offered you were being a massive asshole to everyone who had more flow rate ability and everyone was expected to know what those numbers mean

you would get laughed out of the fucking room for good reason

the median driver in this country is illiterate. that's what you are contending with
it's hard enough to keep people from putting gasoline in a fucking diesel engine
if this country weren't a dog shit hellhole i would get an ev in a heartbeat but given the state of this shithole of a country i will take 40mpg and no car payment lol

@hexx I heard someone say "every vehicle in this country will be an ev ten years from now except for maybe some specialized applications" the other day and almost died laughing

my car is 15 years old and it will be on the road until it crumbles into dust. which doesn't seem like anytime soon

@anime_reference lmao what a fucking joke. for sure

@hexx this is secretly true all over the bay area too because everyone rents and take a wild guess whether landlords feel like installing chargers

people who own a house should be immediately disqualified from saying "anyone can do..."
