They believed and upheld the 'service to the public' importance of the APS. They actually listened to advice and experience. Robodebt would not have cleared the first hurdle and would have died on the doorstep.

@RHW The Howard government may have been just as reformist as the Hawke-Keating governments but, whereas the legacy of the Hawke-Keating reforms has been very much for the common-wealth of Australians, the Howard reforms were very much focused on the increasing wealth of a few and the detriment of the vast majority of workers.
