‘Leigh 🏳️⚧️✊The enshittification of the web just keeps getting worse and worse… It’s becoming considerably more frequent that I can’t find what I need with DuckDuckGo (ProTip: use noai.duckduckgo.com) so I end up trying Google instead. The AI “summary” will say something plausible-sounding and give a “citation”, but when I open that citation link, the keywords are very frequently NOWHERE TO BE FOUND. 🙄🙄🙄
It makes me angry. We used to have a truly INCREDIBLE system for finding information, as if someone intentionally wanted to organize it all and make it universally accessible and useful…
I bet the info I desperately need is buried in some Discord “server” where it’s almost impossible to surface even if you know which one to join. Walled gardens are getting worse and worse.
