@UP8 I don't think it matters so long as the money keeps going up. Players get about 48% of league revenue under the CBA.

The NFLPA leadership is rather in cahoots with owners and its membership is divided between starters who wouldn't want this and the majority who are mainly backups and practice squad players. The average career length is 3 years so they want to get as much as they can while they're still in the league. The union will vote for the best interest of that group of players
