Friendly advice: If you live in a small space and need an efficient way to organize, I highly recommend getting a hanging shoe rack.
For less than $10, my sanity has been restored or at least improved.
Dany [Danny]@Alice You have 2 washing machines on top of each other and you claim you are organized?!? Throw one of those out and you'd have plenty of space for shoes and more. Easier access too!
