#MASH on #war

Hawkeye: War isn't Hell. War is war, and Hell is Hell. And of the two, war is a lot worse.

Father Mulcahy: How do you figure, Hawkeye?

Hawkeye: Easy, Father. Tell me, who goes to Hell?

Father Mulcahy: Sinners, I believe.

Hawkeye: Exactly. There are no innocent bystanders in Hell. War is chock full of them - little kids, cripples, old ladies. In fact, except for some of the brass, almost everybody involved is an innocent bystander.

I remember that one. 🙂

Also:

“Politics is war by other means.”

“Throw a rock in the air, you’ll hit someone guilty.”

“The rain falls on the just and the unjust.”

@dpknauss @SrRochardBunson M*A*S*H is a fantastic show. I didn't know how great it was until watching it with my partner because she needs noise to sleep to.

The blend of comedy and poignancy in that show is so good

I think the final episode set a record for viewers until Seinfeld’s, which was not good at all.

I remember playing the Atari 2600 M*A*S*H video game at a friend’s house while the show was on once and thinking how weird it was. The game by itself was weird, but it had absolutely zero connection with the spirit of the show. I wasn’t exposed to that kind of brand abuse and merchandising at home, so it always stood out when I saw it.
