right now, gop has control of the court for effectively ever. if Ds expand the court, they have at least power for a bit. if Rs then expand...we're no worse off than we were. if the supreme court ends up with 50 people, that's fine. they're acting like a legislature anyway. 1

like, "I think that outcome would be silly" is not a good reason to oppose actions that would substantially reduce fascist power.
the future is the future. but if Ds get the presidency and congress, they should not allow the supreme court to gut all their policy priorities just because of some slippery slope future outcome that some people think seems unwieldy.
the court won't allow DC statehood; won't allow national abortion rights bill; won't allow ending gerrymandering; won't allow reasonable campaign finance reform. and on and on. it won't allow jack shit.
you can't let an unelected christofascist body act as supreme legislature when you've been elected to fight fascism and put in place progressive change.
