But for (Social) Historians there are some interesting things here.
It is not self-service.
77p per gallon is just under 17p per litre, and would have been the going rate in 1977ish.
There is no Diesel available. DERV engines were very rare in cars at this time, and the forecourt is too small for lorries.

I did the odd bit of that too. I was a driving instructor for a school run from a garage.
That was before the Hillman Avenger in you picturer was designed!
