Honestly, I had to put this down for a long while before coming back to it. Huge trigger warning for child abuse. I read the first 100 or so pages and just couldn't read any more. But I knew I would come back to it and I finally did last night. I just read the last page. 5 ⭐️ every day of the week. But whew! It is NOT an easy read.

Bea runs away at 18, in the middle of her senior year. She tells no one her plans. She just knows that after years of abuse she cannot stay there any longer. She emails her brother, Ezra, the only person she stays in contact with. Life for Ezra is just as bad as it was for Bea. Through emails back and forth we learn Bea and Ezra's story. Their past, their present, and their future. It's tough. Life for a lot of kids is just not all unicorns and rainbows and sometimes no one steps in to help.
