Happy Easter to all who celebrate. I was at a bonfire yesterday, a tradition in my home area. The bonfires are supposed to burn away winter and scare off evil spirits and potentially also witches. This fire looks very much like a witch's hat 🔥

@jerbear I agree. In the Harz region, witches meet for a dance about a month from now, on Walpurgis Night, also around a bonfire 🔥 So I would say bonfires as witch repellents are of questionable effectiveness.

@AimeeMaroux @jerbear I think we would be insulted at the burning of a giant witch hat and be “going ‘hmph!’ then stomping away in a huff”’d rather than repelled 🤭
