Burrowing Owl

I have heard so much back and forth about if they dig or not. Florida’s Burrowing Owls do have some different genetics than those in the rest of North America, so it may be that, or maybe just the soil in some parts of Florida allows it where it doesn’t in other places. Owls seem to be mostly squatters as a whole, so they’d probably rather not dig if they don’t have to.
