Storm Dave

A wooly night and 🤬 the roof is damaged - it will be the ladder when it gets light and our friendly roofers on Monday. As for the woods, lots of debris visible. On the positive, the wind means that our power has become very cheap for at least the next 24 hours, in fact we are being paid to use power until 4 - so that is the drying out for free at least. The house is very warm at least and the batteries are all being topped up. I Hope it is as positive for others.

@anathema_device So do I - there was a puddle inside! But the roof is accessible so once the wind calms down I am sure I can do a temporary repair until I get hold of the experts :-) I suspect they will be in great demand over the next few weeks.

@Wen Have you had a look in daylight? Hoping that the diagnosis isn't too complicated.
Around here, Dave was noisy but mostly harmless. Even a couple of wobbly dead trees nearby survived the night.

@Tony_Meredith @anathema_device Three slates have come down. I have made repairs but someone more competent than me will need to get involved. In the woods we have three large trees down (but then a lot of it is very mature). So that will be me and a friend with chain saws when the water gets better and wood for 3 years time (after drying out)
