I've seen some questions hear and there about what apps are in the Keysoft Main Menu on the Braille Note Evolve. So we have Braille Editor - KeyBRF, File manager - KeyFiles, Math editor - KeyMath, Victor Reader, All Apps. Plus the Office Suuite Excel, Outlook (classic), PowerPoint, and Word. Microsoft Edge is the web browser. You can Sshow and hide apps on the Keysoft Main Menu including your usual Windows apps: at the moment, my Keysoft main Menu has 40 items on it.
@Woody Hi David. Do you know if they’ve made it where you can open large braille files on the evolve? On the BI 20, you cannot open large braille files. Large TXT or DOCX files are fine on the BI 20 X, but it seems like if you try to load some really big braille file, it will not open. It tells you that the file is too large. As an example, try to open the Bible as a BRF file and see if the program will allow you to open it. Delight.
@pfhj2000 I've certainly had no problems so far, then again, I haven't spent much time searching for the biggest BRF file I could get my hands on smile.
@Woody @pfhj2000 I'm pretty sure you won't have a problem as the Evolve runs windows. :) I have over 40,000 BRF files here and some are huge. So I look forward to testing that.
@serichsen @pfhj2000 Thanks Scott, looking forward to your feedback.
@Woody Yeah, but the problem is you’re not really using windows. You’re using the BRF editor or key braille. The other thing I wanna test with evolve is something that I can do with windows already on my PC. It’s pretty cool. What I do is to turn a podcast into an MP3 file. Then under windows I can do an alt h d t, and I can create a written file of the podcast. I wonder if the evolved can do something like that? It should be able to, because it’s running a full version of Windows 11.
@pfhj2000 As the evolve as windows, yes you're correct anything you can do you'll be able to do on this unit.
