It never does. Anyone in Canada remember when the carbon tax got axed?

Cutting fuel taxes is basically just another gift to the fossil fuel oiligarchs, and it robs more money from public coffers to pay for it!

“Here’s why Getting Rid of Gas Taxes Might Not Lower Prices After All”

@crispius
Petro captured Alberta, then Saskatchewan, then Canada. BC is the last province they need to fall then the oilmen will have full petrostate control.
@NMBA
They’re well on the way…
@crispius ya i remember the carbon tax REBATE that we dont get anymore 😡

@crispius

Why is it that the oil companies are never asked to reduce their margins to a level that maintains their profit levels during armed conflicts that affect oil prices?

Stupid question, I know.

@crispius The oil speculation market will just look at Canada and see the prices can be raised, the market will take it.

The unspoken solution is a gas export tax, that makes speculation on Canadian produced oil gas too expensive to succeed.

CAPP will make lots of noise to oppose, but CAPP merely represents the multinationals operating in Canada

Export taxes were mentioned as a response to Trump’s tariffs but silence as a tool to combat oil speculation
