Something really good happened this week. A great NOAA climate scientist is retiring, because too demoralizing to work there now. I decided to fundraise to get him a gravel bike by emailing 80 colleagues (including some of you). 60 people donated 2x my goal, so I was able to get him this beauty. 😍

I was honestly afraid he would be upset because his daughter told me he doesn’t like surprises. I called him to say what’s coming and I was floored by his reaction. I’ve never seen him so happy in three decades of knowing him. Let’s see if we get a picture next week. His wife messaged me too. 😄
