In some ways I sympathize with people who want the US to use metric, & there's practical advantages to it (except Fahrenheit which is obviously superior).

BUT. The people saying that pretty much always come from countries that can't launch rockets, have to beg ride-share from others.

You don't hear it much from Chinese, because they're busy building rockets that work (or formerly Russians). ESA? Decade+ behind & blame everyone but their own dysfunctions.
