I found it easy to install TRMNL on my Kindle inside of KOReader. The Kindle script would not work. I also found setting up the basic docker container script easy. The main issue for me was you have to change the base URL and base API URL in the KOReader TRMNL code and that part isn’t documented.
After all that work I realized we don’t have access to any of the plugins…? So it seems I can only write my own stuff for the selfhosted version.
They claim they will add extensions/plugins in the future but honestly with how bad the selfhosted UI looks, lack of extensions, and insane CEO, I won’t believe anything until its in my hand.
I see, I thought it’s more polished, I saw a video on YT recently and it made me think that right now its easy to do. Anyway they didn’t have to do any of this and so far they have a good track record when fulfilling promises. Even if not, its free and the fact I can use my old kindle… I love it.
What did the CEO do?
