In a scramble to borrow a laptop out of the computer room this afternoon, the youngsters dropped it and damaged the lid's hinge mount on one side. The plastic where the screws go in is damaged. Unfixable, by the looks of it. Laptop still works, but the nature of the injury makes me suspect its days are numbered..

(At least it's an old, cheaper one.)

It amazes me how rinky dink these cases are. Every laptop seems to use this same failure-prone design for attaching its lid to hinges..
