When you look at an image like this and realise this is *all* we’ve got, we need to jail every political leader and business executive that is hell-bent on destroying this jewel, our only home, for fossil fuel profit.

To hell with them all, seriously.

@peterdutoit get more? we were born to inherit the stars
@peterdutoit and jail all the corrupt leaders poisoning Terra
@peterdutoit
You'll have to remove the vote from their many, many supporters first.
@mrundkvist
I don't think that voting is necessary for imprisoning criminals in general. Why should it be with people in power, who do far more harm then the average criminal?
@Farid The voters that put the current criminal in power will vote for another one next time. They are the persistent problem.
@mrundkvist
True. But that is the reason why we (should) have the separation of powers, so that between the elections the people in power can't just do whatever they like. It should be prosecuted to destroy our future.
Even if the voters vote for a criminal again, it shouldn't stop prosecution.

@mrundkvist @peterdutoit No, absolutely no. Wrong direction. Don't take away things from people, *give* them more (high education). It's common knowledge that the better the education and the less existential fear someone suffers from, the more democratic and (given it was part of said education) empathetic someone is. That's one reason conservatives and fascists hate high education.

True solutions to these problems unfortunately take at least one full generation.

@peterdutoit

And it looks big. But "we" - the life on that decoration without a tree, all of us, all life is thinner than blue paint on a basketball.

A gossamer sheen of life on the shell of cold rock, that's floating on boiling lava.

@peterdutoit if only it were this simple.
