I had messed around with Linux and failed for a while, as I was using dialup and was trying to get win modem drivers working under linux. Fast forward a few years later and I finally switched when i finally had broadband, and the concept a virtual machine was really becoming industry standard in late 2000’s, and I wanted to start experimenting with them, I hated trying to hunt down windows licenses for each VM I wanted to run, and I started messing around with Linux in VM’s as they were free.
