I've wondered if its possible to add a #generator to a cat/dog exercise wheel, and obtain some #electricity ?

Probably not enough to charge a mobile phone, but maybe enough to power a pretty light show to surround the wheel (which the pet may also enjoy looking at..)

@vfrmedia have you seen @squeak_signal ? I don't think it's actually powered by Fury's wheel but it's rather cute

@afewbugs @vfrmedia @squeak_signal You might enjoy Blondi Hacks for some inspiration, here she charges her phone with a very small steam engine and dynamo.

@aly @afewbugs @vfrmedia @squeak_signal Possible: sure. You can buy small generators like that, doesn't have to be a kit build, and the electronics Quinn shows aren't complicated either. Practical: No. You won't make a lot of amps, and not for long enough that it will make a noticable difference.

Also highly recommend watching Quinn's videos if you're at all into making things. She's a superb educator and has valuable stuff to teach you whether you're into machining or not. #BlondiHacks rules

@afewbugs @vfrmedia I do wonder if the cat wheel can generate enough (or any) electricity! I think not, but I bet someone could build one that does
