Just spent two and a half hours on the floor programming and debugging aspect signals and the SIGM20 controller programming I’d done.

Found two signals where the connectors had the wires reversed (so they didn’t work properly), fixed. One cable with a broken wire at one end also fixed. I now have five out of eight of these signals installed and programmed correctly but sadly there are two more that I’ve done nothing with yet (awaiting installation, was going to be tomorrow) that seem to be dead right out of the box.

Still, progress of sorts.

Must chase the order I placed for the final signal controller I ordered two weeks ago…

The SIGM20 signal control board is great - if you have LocoNet AND your block occupancy hardware and points controllers are on it. My point controllers are not on LocoNet so although the signals respond to block occupancy, and point changes, the signal controller does not know the initial state of any of the points.

So once I start trying to get automation working again I will need to script some point changes on power-up so that the signal controllers can have accurate information. Solvable but mildly irritating. I can’t help feeling that this controller would have a bigger market if it accepted plain DCC as an alternative as well as LocoNet.
