I want to be her when I grow up. Can she run a teddy bear med school please.

From pet attacks, to missing parts, to just too much loving, there’s almost no stuffie that highly experienced seamstress Ruth Hasman can’t fix. She runs a hospital and spa for stuffed toys out of her Vancouver home. She is also training another worker to take over Teddy Bear Doctor duties when she no longer has sufficient hand dexterity. 🥹😭

every hospital that has child patients should have a Stuffie Doctor on staff, paid proper wages

@adub

The only memory I have from before I was five was being wheeled down a hospital corridor on a gurney, with my teddy bear, Billy.

His ear had become detached.

When I woke up from surgery, we had both been successfully repaired.

It is so vivid, the drab green paint, the smell of chloroform and disinfectant.

These things are so important to kids.

@EricLawton whoever healed you and Billy all have my grateful thanks 🙏🏻
@EricLawton i just tried to think if i have genuine memories before around the age of five - ones not planted by looking at old photos, i mean. mine is also hospital related: i had raging tonsillitis. i was outraged to be put in a cot like my 3-years younger brother rather than a bed in the ward. the thing that made up for it - apart from loving whanau support - was being on an all ice cream and jelly diet afterwards
@adub @superflippy A real life Doc McStuffins!
